A PAN (Permanent Account Number) is a 10-character ID issued by the Income Tax Department. You need it to file taxes, open a bank or demat account, make large transactions, and for most formal financial dealings in India.
To apply, you'll typically need proof of identity, proof of address and proof of date of birth — Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, voter ID or a ration card with your photo are all commonly accepted. A recent passport-size photo is also required for a physical card.
Important change from April 2026: Aadhaar alone is no longer enough for a new PAN application. Applicants now need to submit Aadhaar along with additional supporting documents for identity and address verification.
We help you gather the right documents, fill the form correctly the first time, and track your application until the card is issued — cutting down on the back-and-forth that usually causes delays.
